II) The Picture: Seeing the Face of the Redeemer (14-22)

Spiritual Principle: In Jesus, God has both secured his promise and saved his people through the King!

 

Application:

  1.  Stop looking at your inadequacies as the determiner of your spiritual worth.
  2. Stop looking at your inadequacies as the barriers to your redemption.
  3. Stop looking at your inadequacies as the factors for your effectiveness in the kingdom.
  4. And stop looking at your inadequacies as the hindrances to your invitation to worship the King.

I) Naomi and Ruth's Pursuit of Redemption (vv. 1-9)


II) Redemption's Pursuit of Ruth and Naomi (vv. 10-18)


 

Application:

  1. You cannot be good or clever enough to trick Jesus into saving you. But the great news is you don’t have to be.
  2. God does not save you against your will or behind your back. Salvation is recognizable and receivable.

Spiritual Principle: You don’t have to worry about or win the redemption of God because His disposition is already toward redeeming you. He sent Jesus to redeem you!

Text: Ruth 2:1-23

Sermon Title: "The Redeemer Revealed"

I) The Introduction of Boaz (vv. 1-3)

II) The Interaction with Boaz (vv. 4-17)

III) The Interpretation for Boaz (18-22)

 

Observation:

  1. A redeemer has compassion toward the legitimate physical needs of those who need redeeming.
  2. A redeemer does not lose sight of the greater and eternal need of those who need redeeming.
  3. Those redeemed are those who reflect the Redeemer’s care for people and their physical needs.
  4. Those redeemed are those who have a genuine humility and an observable faith.
  5. A redeemer is one who will come to and find those who need redeeming.

 

Spiritual Principle: A mark of the True Redeemer is that He comes to those who need to be redeemed. Jesus our Redeemer came to us! 

 

Final Application: Remember the problem is our perception never His presence or better yet His Peace!

Spiritual Principle: God has allowed us to see His ultimate Glimmer of Hope in the person of Jesus through His birth in Bethlehem.

Application:

  1. Jesus is the Hope that no hope thief can steal.
  2. Jesus is the Hope that all talk of hope longs for.
  3. Jesus is the Hope that will finally fix the truth of hopelessness.
  4. Because Jesus Himself is the Gift of God, the Bread of Life, the Savior of the World.
