rEcess allows kids to be themselves and have fun with no expectations or demands. Children experiencing disability are paired one on one with an adult friend whose sole objective is to make rEcess the best night of their month!

Siblings are often forgotten on the spectrum of family care–not at rEcess. rEcess is also a break for our siblings to have lots of fun and connect with other siblings who understand what it is like to have a brother or sister experiencing disability.

We know your life is full of unique joys and challenges. rEcess gives you an opportunity to rest, reconnect, and recharge while knowing your child is being cared for in a safe and welcoming environment. Whether you use the evening to shop, take a nap, go out to eat, spend time together, or connect with other parents, the time is yours. Occasionally, we also offer activities for parents to enjoy together while their children are at rEcess.

The night is made possible only by our volunteer leaders and their passion to engage with some great kids while providing families a rarity- an evening tailored to their children. There is much to be gained from volunteering at rEcess and our volunteers value the connections they make with children and their families.
